    The Heroes Cup

    The Heroes Cup is Green Banner’s dream to create an epic event hosting multiple 5-person team tournaments in the Southwest region of the United States. While singles tournaments are always fun, there is something special about a team format where friends band together to take on the world!

    Westworld of Scottsdale hosts the event in the air-conditioned South Hall — a massive facility with plenty of parking and the flexibility to accommodate the unique needs of a large-scale tabletop gaming tournament. Team tournaments run for Warhammer 40,000, Age of Sigmar, Marvel: Crisis Protocol, and Star Wars: Shatterpoint, with The Old World running as a singles event.

    As at all Green Banner events: no surprises, no luck, just competition — with professional, hand-selected judging throughout. But the Heroes Cup celebrates fun and community above all, team themes and best-dressed recognition included. Players of all skill levels are encouraged to band together, have fun, and test themselves in a positive environment through the whole weekend.

    How big are teams?

    Teams are 5 players. Warhammer 40,000, Age of Sigmar, Marvel: Crisis Protocol, and Star Wars: Shatterpoint all run as 5-person team tournaments; The Old World runs as a singles event.

    Which game systems can I play?

    Warhammer 40,000, Age of Sigmar, Marvel: Crisis Protocol, Star Wars: Shatterpoint, and The Old World — grab the team (or singles) ticket for your system.

    Which edition of Warhammer 40K will be used?

    If the new edition of Warhammer 40K is released by June 21, 2026, then it will be in effect for this event. Any FAQs or errata released before the event will also apply.

    Is there a painting requirement?

    Yes, all models must be painted to a 3-color minimum. We will have Best Painted judging for those who want to compete for painting awards.

    Can I get a refund?

    Full refunds are available up to the posted deadline. After that, tickets can be transferred to another team but not refunded.

    How do pairings work?

    Round 1 is random seeding. Later rounds use Swiss pairings based on team results, with opponent history taken into account.
