The San Diego Classic
The San Diego Classic is the regional GT you always wanted, where the best of the best come to battle it out. This beloved venue has hosted many Green Banner events — and for good reason: it is ideally located, and its relaxed vibe allows everyone to feel right at home.
This two-day tournament is structured to provide the most equal and clear matched play experience. We aim to limit the situations that are out of your control and focus on a clear, defined format. As at all Green Banner events: no surprises, no luck, just competition. We hand-select our judging staff — judges of integral, stoic character who are themselves highly experienced and accomplished tournament players.
Though we focus extensively on competition, we emphasize experience over all. Players of all skill levels are encouraged to come play, have fun, and test themselves in a positive environment through the whole weekend. We are all here to have fun at the end of the day.

Which game systems can I play?
Warhammer 40,000 and The Old World (square-based) — choose your system when you grab your ticket.
Where do I find the player packs?
The 40K and Old World player packs are available through the Player Portal.
What rules are we using?
The latest matched play rules and current points for each game system. Any FAQs or errata released before the event will be in effect.
Is there a painting requirement?
Yes, all models must be painted to a 3-color minimum. We will have Best Painted judging for those who want to compete for painting awards.
Can I get a refund?
Full refunds are available up to the posted deadline. After that, tickets can be transferred to another player but not refunded.
How do pairings work?
Round 1 is random seeding. Later rounds use Swiss pairings based on battle points, with opponent history taken into account.
