The Utah Cup
The Utah Cup is the rebranded — and now fully Green Banner produced — version of the long-running Salt Lake Open. This gaming convention is focused on providing the ultimate gaming experience for generals across a wide range of game systems: professional judging, plenty of space, wonderful vendors, and the fun atmosphere that Green Banner is known for. The Western Sports Park in Farmington has been chosen to host — easily accessible within the region, a clean, functional venue that is a joy to roll dice in, and with room to grow as the Utah Cup aims to become one of the largest events in the region.
The Utah Cup consists of many one- and two-day tournaments for a wide range of game systems. While each tournament has its own player packet, all are structured to provide the most equal and clear matched play experience. As at all Green Banner events: no surprises, no luck, just competition. We hand-select our judging staff — judges of integral, stoic character who are themselves highly experienced and accomplished tournament players.
Beyond the tournaments, the convention floor features vendors, tables of open play for game systems without tournament play, and Green Banner’s unique raffles and games that run all weekend long. The convention itself is free to attend — tickets are only required for tournament play. Players of all skill levels are encouraged to come play, have fun, and test themselves in a positive environment through the whole weekend.
