Green Banner Event Rules and Player Guidelines
- Players are to conduct themself in an amicable way as to afford their opponent and tournament organizers their due respect on the table. They should always act in good faith and give their opponents the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. Never should they act in a way as to be; malicious, deceitful, misleading, rude or any like way of presenting yourself. Remember, your opponent chose to pay their hard earned money for great games! This behavior, if seen, is subject to a yellow card and immediate points deduction.
- Players should seek to be victorious through their choices on the battlefield and displaying of skill. Not by technical default of their opponent. It is never ok nor condoned to seek victory through technicality. This includes weaponizing the clock, wrongfully representing rules, prohibiting reserves, etc… This behavior, if seen, is subject to a yellow card and immediate points deduction.
- Chess clocks are not required but recommended. If one player asks to use a chess clock, the chess clock is mandatory. The clock is to protect your time from slow opponents and armies. If a clock is to be used, both players must discuss the starting time and the conditions in which it might be enforced if one player is to expire their time. If a consensus cannot be reach, politely ask for a judge to set your time and give you clock expiration mandates.
- Violence, aggression, crude language and any other form of poor behavior is strictly prohibited at the event. If this behavior is witnessed there will be a “Zero tolerance” policy and the severity will be at the sole discretion of the TO charged with adjudication. This could result in a drop from the event and being “86’ed” from further events.
- Players are to submit a list in a timely manner and no later than the list deadline. Lists submitted late will be subject to a yellow card and a first round points deduction. Lists are there to ensure your opponent knows what he is up against, that being said lists are to be submitted in a clean and neat fashion as to allow players and TO’s ease of access and clarity for audit. Lists that are false, poorly organized or intentionally misleading will be subject to yellow card and first round points deductions.
