The Silver State Classic
The Silver State Classic is Green Banner’s evolution of the Silver State Major and a way to help grow the awesome community of players in Reno Nevada.
While players from everywhere are invited, this tournament was created for the locals who wanted to have an event set to Green Banner's high standards—top judging, quality awards, and a fun vibe that ensures everyone is having a good time!
As with all Green Banner events, you can expect a competitive, fair, and professionally run tournament. But the Silver State Classic is leaning into the very friendly nature that the local players are known for.
We’ve selected Comic Kingdom as our venue thanks to their support of the local player base and their practical location in the region.
Your Local Leaders
This event is made possibly by regional community leaders Matt Kulak and Chris Forkner and the support of their team, XPZ. These guys are the boots on the ground in the area and work tirelessly to grow the tabletop wargaming community in Reno Neveda.
Matthew Kulak: Matt has been playing warhammer since 1999. Over the past 6 years he has worked on growing the local community with an emphasis on sportsmanship integrity. Over the last couple years he has taken an active role in assisting with organizing both local RTTs and Grand Tournaments.
Chris Forkner: Chris has been working on growing the Reno competitive 40k community for the past 6 years. During this time he has organized monthly RTTs, yearly Grand Tournaments, and worked with local game stores as an ambassador for getting players into competitive 40k. He is committed to elevating the players in his community and promoting excellent sportsmanship values for everyone at his events.

Travel Information
The Silver State Classic is held in the heart of Reno, Nevada. The venue is very accessible to anyone driving via I-80 and I-580 - and the Reno-Tahoe International airport is less than 3 miles away!
There are several hotels near the venue. Just across the street is the Peppermill Casino Resort which not only provides convenient lodging, but also has a great bar to grab a drink at during lunch or after the last round ends for the day.
Comic Kingdom will be hosting our event at their wonderful store. There is great lighting, space, and a helpful team of staff. There is also free parking at this store.
